PAID MEDIA STRATEGIST
Location: Lebanon, TN
Position: Full-Time
Department: Client Services
At GSF Media, creativity drives us, and innovation guides our every move. Since our founding in 1997, we've been committed to becoming experts in our field, but never complacent. We evolve with the changing trends and markets, ensuring our clients are always on the cutting edge. This adaptability is what our clients value most about us: we anticipate what's next so they don't have to.
As the digital landscape evolves faster than ever, with AI rewriting the rules, ad platforms shifting daily, and consumer behavior becoming harder to predict, we’re looking for a Paid Media Strategist who thrives in the chaos. Someone who’s a tactician, but also a futurist. Someone who’s already experimenting with the tools others haven’t even heard of yet. This is not a role for a status-quo campaign manager. We’re looking for someone who is competitive and obsessed with staying ahead and energized by what’s next.
There’s lots of things unique about GSF. One example? We cover 100% of healthcare, dental, and vision for you and your entire family. Agencies never offer a benefit like this — we do it because we actually want the people on this team to thrive ... both at work and at home.
The Role:
As a Paid Media Strategist, you will architect, launch, and continually optimize paid media campaigns across Google, Meta, and TikTok. But more than that, you’ll act as an internal “ad tech evangelist”, constantly testing new tools, AI workflows, and media strategies to give our clients a measurable edge.
This position reports to the Paid Media Manager and is under the VP of Marketing.
Specific tasks of the Paid Media Strategist include...
Paid Media Management (85% of Job):
- Build, launch, and optimize paid media campaigns across Google Search, Display, YouTube, Performance Max, Local Service Ads (LSA), and Vehicle Listing Ads (VLA); Meta (Facebook/Instagram) including Advantage+ Shopping and catalog-based inventory ads; and TikTok including Automotive Inventory Ads (AIAs).
- Optimize targeting, bidding, creative rotation, and conversion flows daily.
- Implement and troubleshoot tracking systems: Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Conversions API (CAPI), GA4 events, TikTok Pixel and Events API.
- Manage budget allocation and pacing to ensure efficient use of client ad spend.
- Receive finished creative from our production team and deploy it correctly across platforms — right format, right dimensions, right placement. Vertical in vertical, horizontal in horizontal. Getting this right every time matters to us.
- Build custom reporting dashboards and compile weekly/monthly performance reports across all platforms.
- Upload final video assets to YouTube with accurate metadata, descriptions, and tags.
- Use AI tools and automation as a force multiplier — not as a crutch, but to move faster and make sharper decisions.
Internal Collaboration & Administrative (15% of Job):
- Align paid media efforts with larger client goals through collaboration with CRMs and strategists.
- Work alongside the Creative and Video teams to brief, review, and optimize ad creatives.
- Provide tactical and strategic recommendations during monthly performance reviews.
- Manage platform account structures and oversee agency access, billing, and roles.
This job might be a great fit if you...
- Have 3+ years of hands-on campaign management, handling $50K+/month in paid spend.
- Are already using AI tools to improve your ad workflow—creative testing, budget pacing, reporting, etc.
- Are an early adopter, always learning and experimenting with emerging tech.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change.
- Love solving problems, digging into data, and finding what actually works.
- Are comfortable in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads (Search, YouTube, Display), and TikTok Ads Manager.
- Understand attribution, funnel mapping, and what it means to “spend money like it’s your own”.
- Have experience with lead generation campaigns and basic website analytics.
Bonus points if you have any of these...
- Prior car dealership / automotive industry advertising experience.
- Working familiarity with vAuto, Dealer.com, VinSolutions, DealerSocket, CDK Global, or Reynolds & Reynolds.
- Google Ads certification (Search, Display, or Video).
- Meta Blueprint certification.
- Experience building custom automations, scripts, or workflows that improve ad operations.
- Agency experience and Mac fluency.
- Cursory knowledge of basic HTML for pixel placement, JavaScript for custom events, or API/CRM integration for tracking.
